Giving

Supporting God's work at St Mags, including The Living Room, can be done in a number of ways including joining teams, in prayer and giving financially. If you choose to give financially then we want you to do it with freedom, grace and Joy.

Thanks for partnering with us.

Why give?

What we do with our money is often reflection of our hearts. Giving is encouraged in the bible and giving financially to St Mags means you will be supporting all that happens here. This includes the ordinary (like heating the church and paying the bills) and the extraordinary (like reaching the next generation with the good news about Jesus). Regular giving helps us to plan ahead and fulfil the vision that God has given us for 500 one by one.

Heart of giving

Healthy giving comes from an understanding that everything belongs to God. So we give, not out of guilt but from the foundation of God’s gracious provision. Giving is part of a lifestyle of thanksgiving should be done joyfully (the place to put you gifts at church is even called the Joy Box). Giving is not just about money, but also about your whole life; your time, talents and resources. It’s your choice. You decide what to give. Once you have decided, make a plan and give regularly.

How To Give

1. Cash or Cheque
The Joy Box is out every week at the back of church. It’s called the Joy Box because God loves a cheerful giver!

2. Standing Order
Giving via standing order really helps you to act regularly on what you have decided. It also helps us with our planning. To set up a new standing order contact your Bank and let them have the following details:
Account Name: St Mags Current Account
CAF Account: 00030128
Sort Code: 40-52-40

3. Online
For one off donations you can use www.give.net/20135020 who will also collect the Gift Aid for us. (a standing order is a little more efficient for regular giving)

Gift Aid increases your giving

Gift Aid increases the value of your giving provided you are a taxpayer (paying tax on income, savings or capital gains). You fill in a gift aid form and we reclaim (from the Inland Revenue) the basic rate tax paid on your gifts, so this means that if you give £10 using Gift aid, it’s worth £12.50

giftaidAll you have to do is complete a Gift Aid form with the simple declaration saying that you are a UK taxpayer and want to use Gift Aid. A declaration can be backdated to cover all donations since 6th April 2000 when the scheme started and is valid until the donor cancels it. Gift Aid works however you give (cash, cheque, standing order and envelope) so please do complete our Gift Aid Form.

Giving to The Living Room

We encourage people to give to the general running of the church, this includes all our activities, ministries and outreach events like The Living Room. If you want to give specifically to support The Living Room then simply mark your gift or reference your standing order with “The Living Room”.

Stewardship Officer

We take good stewardship and good governance seriously and audited accounts are produced each year at our annual meeting (usually March/April). If you have any questions please contact Joy Payne.

Many thanks for supporting God's work at St Mags.
